Our Story
Pizza Roma was created by one man, Mike Shallal. He is the heart and soul of Pizza Roma. Using his recipe for over forty years, beginning at an early age he made fresh pita with spices with his father. Later in Detroit, Michigan Mike made his classic Detroit style pizza which the people of Detroit enjoyed for over 25 years. Upon moving to Alabama with his Wife Cathy, he quickly realized there was a lack of fresh, delicious pizza in the Somerville, Priceville, Eva, Falkville and Southern Morgan County area. Bringing the great taste of his Detroit style pizza, he changed the shape to the more well known circle pizza to accommodate his new region.
For eight years Pizza Roma has provided Fresh handmade pizza, our dough is made in house every day. Mike and his staff take pride in providing a tasty, mouthwatering product that always comes with a side of hospitality.
